Agriturismo Borgo Spante lies at the crossroads of ancient paths that unite the regions of Umbria, Toscana and Lazio. It is at the centre of a labyrinth of tales, pathways and lives of people from all walks of life, from the illustrious to simple wayfarers, labourers, farmers and woodcutters.
This historical and cultural maze crosses Orvieto and Perugia, Citta` della Pieve and Todi, passing through the splendid villages of Montegiove and Montegabbione to finally reach Collelungo and Monte Castello di Vibio.
Agriturismo Borgo Spante is a timeless place. It is a rural hamlet where you will be introduced to the history, nature and traditions of a region, which in its truest and most charming expression, is the heart of central Italy.
The historical country house, farmhouses, stables and small village school, surrounded by fragrant oak and pine woods, were transformed into an agriturismo in the early nineties. This allowed friends, guests and anyone interested in experiencing the atmosphere and life of an age-old working farm to share its values and unveil its secrets.
For more than twenty years the owner, Claudia Spatola, has guided those in search of authentic Umbria through the history of the hamlet, the flavours of the traditional cuisine and the wild nature of the forests.
Rambling in search of wild herbs and mushrooms, meeting and learning to respect the animals of the woods and the farm, astounding your palate with the culinary traditions unique to Umbrian cuisine: these are just a few of the experiences to be enjoyed at Agriturismo Borgo Spante…
